Gucci founded Gucci in Florence in 1921. He was inspired as a teenager by the elegance
of the upper class guest staying at the Savoy Hotel in London where he worked
as a liftboy. His Vision was to combine this elegance with the unique skills of
master craftsmanship of local Tuscan artisans. Today Gucci is owned by PPR
Luxury Group. PPR purchased Gucci in 1999. PPR is
a family-controlled company and operates in two market segments: Luxury and
