Gucci is a prestigious, internationally recognized, admired, respected, and often imitated fashion brand. The brand is easily recognizable with its famous icons such as the double G logo, horsebit and the web (red and green stripes).
The Logo
The double G represents the initials of the founder Guccio Gucci and the most significant symbol in Gucci’s history. The monogram transported the company’s fame around the globe in the much-photographed company of movie stars, aristocrats and socialites. From the seventies to the present day, the monogram became the symbol of heritage in modernity, featuring on items ranging from ties to iPad cases, and even a 3D interpretation in Guccissima Leather.
Horsebit
The horsebit was first introduced in Gucci products during the Fifties, used on heavy tan leather saddle-stitched handbags. Since then, the horsebit has been both miniaturized and maximized as hardware. The horsebit played an important role in marking the Gucci loafer a timeless design classic. Hollywood’s leading men including Clark Gable, John Wayne and Fred Astaire wore the loafer’s, and in the 1968 became the choice of sophisticated women looking for a luxurious kind of comfort.
The Web, Red and Green Stripe
The inspiration for the Web came from the canvas girth strap used to hold saddles firmly in place on a horse’s back. The Web was first developed in the Fifties, and instantly became the hallmark of a cultured club of well-traveled connoisseurs. The Web is globally recognized and has played a starring role in products such as the centerpiece of a Jackie O bag, on the strap of a weekend tote and the base upon which the horse bit was placed on a classic Gucci loafer.
Fantastic about the brand awareness of Gucci
